Smith Cemetery

From Brownwood take Highway 279 north for 22 miles. After crossing the Pecan Bayou look for the Smith Cemetery sign or CR 114. Turn left cross over four cattle guards. Approximately 2.6 miles. After crossing the fourth cattle guard, turn left at the first dirt lane. Follow this lane for two miles. You will cross the Pecan Bayou, no bridge. After crossing the Pecan Bayou stay to the left. Pass an old cistern. Immediately to the right is a metal gate. The cemetery is visible to the north of the gate. Be sure to close all gates as this is private property. Attempt this only if the area has not received any rainfall recently.
